Charleston, SC – July 19, 2016 – MTAG Services, LLC is pleased to announce the successful completion of its SOC 1 Type II (SSAE 16) audit of its Tax Liens & Tax Deeds and REO & Foreclosure Management System for processing user entities’ tax liens and tax deeds, and REO & foreclosure transactions throughout the period of October 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016. Operations and related control objectives in each of MTAG’s servicing markets and corporate business units were examined in the course of this audit and disclosed in a Type II Service Organization Control (SOC 1) Report. The independent SOC 1 Type II or SSAE 16 audit was performed by CohnReznick, a nationally recognized independent auditing firm.
The SOC 1 Type II Report documents the examination of MTAG’s system of controls and attest to the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of controls to achieve related control objectives. The scope of this report includes relevant aspects of MTAG’s control environment, risk assessment process, information and communication systems, and monitoring controls and included extensive testing of control activities implemented by MTAG to ensure control objectives were achieved. Following the rigorous examination, the service auditor issued a clean, favorable opinion.
MTAG’s management team understands the ever-increasing importance of corporate governance, as well as, the impact of the company’s provided services on its clients’ system of internal controls. The favorable completion of this first year audit is only part of MTAG’s commitment to maintaining a well-governed, high quality service environment. MTAG has engaged its service auditor whereby MTAG will continue to undergo regular independent audits.
