MTAG issues SOC 1 Type II Report for the period April 1, 2016- December 31, 2016

Charleston, SC., March 10, 2017 – MTAG Services, LLC understands the ever-increasing importance of corporate governance, as well as, compliance with rigorous operating standards. As part of its ongoing commitment to meeting and maintaining these standards, MTAG Services recently engaged Elliott Davis Decosimo LLC to prepare an Independent Service Auditor’s Report, specifically a SOC 1 Type II Report, in accordance with the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16, Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization.

The SOC 1 Type II Report documents the examination of MTAG’s System and related controls for processing user entities’ transactions and attests to the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of the controls to achieve the related control objectives. Most notably, the scope of this report includes tests of controls relevant to a user entities’ internal control over financial reporting – inclusive of MTAG’s control environment, risk assessment process, business processes, information and communication systems, and monitoring controls.

MTAG Services is pleased to announce the successful completion of the SOC 1 Type II examination of its Tax Liens & Tax Deeds and REO & Foreclosure Management System throughout the period of April 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016. Following the rigorous examination, the service auditor issued a SOC 1 Type II Report with an unqualified opinion or, what is often referred to as, a clean, favorable opinion.

The favorable completion of this second year SOC 1 Type II examination demonstrates MTAG’s commitment to maintaining a well-governed, high quality service environment.

Our participation in the SOC 1 Type II examination is a best practice MTAG Services follows each year to assure our clients of the integrity of our internal processes, as well as, provide our clients with additional confirmation that our company, systems, processes and people can stand up to the strict scrutiny and standards promulgated by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
